TSR Maldives Experience
with TSR Coach Ryan
Designed for surfers from high beginner to intermediate.
Enjoy an abundance of near-empty, perfect reef breaks with a small group of likeminded surfers.
March 14-21, 2027.
The Surfer’s Roadmap approach.
Detailed, specific, comprehensive daily coaching sessions.
Un-rushed and in a small group, we take as long as required so that you completely understand your next progression focus.
Our media management is unparalleled, utilising side by side analysis at controlled speeds, camera angles, turn intensity and wave sizes.
Our video coaching is the backbone of what we do.
Step by step, zero performance pressure.
At TSR, we meet each surfer where they are at on their personal surfing journey. By establishing your unique pathway to the next level of surfing, we provide a supportive and encouraging coaching environment for you to, piece by piece, build stronger (and exciting) techniques.
Meaningful, tangible progress over 6 days of surf science.
Powerful take-home assets.
We record all our analysis sessions, allowing you to touch base with them digitally before each surf session.
You’ll then be given access to a compilation of all your waves from the trip and a final take-home analysis to reference as you surf on your own.
This is an investment in the next twelve months of your surfing journey.
Input (cues)
Specific surf breaks to match your ability level.
With a small group, we can tailor a surfing program that uniquely fits your needs. We always aim to take a quiet, contrarian strategy when it comes to finding waves.
This means that on retreat we often surf alone; just you, the coach and 5 other surfers and all professionally filmed for analysis later on.
Practice (refine + repeat)
Measure success
Why over 70% of our surfers come back.
“There’s a specific combination of character traits that make someone a great surf coach. I think being a great surfer is one of them, a great communicator as well, but it’s actually being kind and empathic that’s the most important. That’s why Ryan has been so fantastic as a coach. He rips, he breaks down surfing in an easy-to-understand way, and he’s a great human! "

Southern Maldives
Located just a short flight from the capital of The Maldives (Male), the Southern Atolls are renowned for quiet, lesser known reef breaks and clean, moderate swells through February March.
In this premium surf coaching retreat, you and 5-6 other surfers will pursue waves around the southern atolls of The Maldives. In a shaded speed boat dedicated to our retreat group, you’ll paddle out at near-empty, perfect, peeling reef breaks every day, sometimes right at our doorstep.
We always select surfing locations based on the group’s needs and comfort level.
During February and March, we expect the waves to consistently be between chest high and head high, and will always endeavour to pick the best location for the group.
Surfing level and progression.
Who is a high beginner-intermediate surfer?
A high-beginner surfer is someone who can independently paddle out in head high conditions and, with guidance, catch waves consistently. The pop up should be somewhat reliable (though it doesn’t have to be perfect!) and you should be starting to cut across the face of the wave regularly.
An intermediate surfer is someone who is cutting across regularly and looking to practice their basic manoeuvres or speed generation.
By working closely together with Coach Ryan throughout the entire week, surfers will be able to identify the patterns or sub-optimal techniques holding them back and begin to optimise them for better surfing. Utilising The Surfer’s Roadmap curriculum and a fun and friendly approach, Ryan will unlock years of progression on this retreat.

“I love hosting these camps with The Surfer’s Roadmap. Meeting a small handful of unique individuals and getting to help them progress their surfing is fantastic, but what really fuels me is getting to know them in between the waves. To share laughs together, to learn why they got into surfing and what they love about it. That excites me and makes all the hard work worth it.
My commitment to those coming along to The Maldives is to meet them at their level and, without any pressure, use the best of TSR to help them better their surfing.
It’s going to be an epic trip!”

What you’re in for…
-
We suggest all surfers to bring (at least) 2 surfboards with them on retreat. Check out kalebrockdesigns.com for inspiration.
Each surfer should also bring appropriate gear for water temperature (The Maldives is warm to hot), leashes, zinc and wax, as it is not always guaranteed you can buy this on location. We will provide finer details closer to the retreat.
-
We recommend you try to arrive before 11am on March 14th into Male in order to time the domestic transfers appropriately
We will need your passport information in order to secure your domestic flight transfers.
Checkout occurs on the final date of your retreat (the 21st of March). If you would like to extend your stay please let us know so we can arrange for you.
-
Everything that’s included is indicated on our “what’s included” list above. Please note that we may not list everything that is considered an out of pocket expense.
